Functional coating is applied by spraying. The carrier fluid or the liquid used to disperse the coating shall be designed to dissolve or disperse the coating so that the carrier fluid atomized leaves a very thin uniform coating on the surface of the treated part. It should also have a low viscosity to moisten and conform to the surface geometry of the treated part, ensuring a highly consistent surface coating.

Functional coatings should have excellent material compatibility. They should be able to be safely coated on a variety of materials including metal, glass, plastic and ceramic pieces.
